About Adrienne . . .
Adrienne was born and raised on Long Island, New York in 1954 and graduated from North Babylon High School in 1972.
Always intuitive and insightful, she experienced precognitive and lucid dreams from a very young age, often predicting events and circumstances. Since childhood she has possessed a strong desire for truth and justice, and fervor for learning and intimacy.
Athletic during her youth, and long before it became popular, she began studying and practicing Yoga at the age of seventeen (17), in an attempt to keep fit, flexible and active. The multitude of other benefits of a lifetime of yoga for the body, mind and spirit, would become apparent as time went on.
Her first job and career was in law. She was a legal secretary and executive legal assistant for thirty-two (32) years in several private law practices in Suffolk and Nassau Counties. Since her interests were diverse she changed jobs often over the years in an effort to work in various facets of the law, i.e. real estate, estate, matrimonial, and negligence. With each position she learned more about people, the law and life.
Bringing her deep hunger for knowledge and education to every experience, she began her role as a parent in the same way. She started with an Expectant Parent Course at Good Samaritan Hospital during pregnancy and took her first parenting skills class when her son was two and her daughter was newborn. The course was based upon the book Children: The Challenge by Rudolph Dreikurs.
After the unfortunate devastation of divorce several years later, hoping to bring herself and her children through the healing process, she attended, along with her son and daughter, therapeutic support groups and workshops, i.e. Children of Loss Rainbow Group, SOS (Survivors of Splits) and a Communication Workshop at South Oaks Psychiatric Hospital, all in addition to private counseling.
She followed with the course Active Parenting of Teens, also based upon the works of Rudolph Dreikurs and completed an alcohol awareness course, TWYKAA, Talking With Your Kids About Alcohol. All of this would prepare Adrienne, not only in raising her own children, but for her later expert counsel in parenting skills.
A specific combination of emotional healing and eliminating certain foods, chemicals and toxins from her diet and environment resulted in Adrienne curing herself of a thirty-two (32) year struggle with life threatening asthma and allergies. This paramount life changing period led to her avid interest in nutrition and her commitment to a conscious, natural and holistic lifestyle. During this time she engaged in the study and practice of aromatherapy and utilized additional alternative treatments to western medicine, i.e. massage and acupuncture. Later she would also undergo sessions of release and balance chiropractic care, reiki and shamanic and esoteric methods of healing.
A great lover of the English language and always aspiring to help others learn and improve the quality of their lives, she became a Literacy Volunteer of America and worked for an extended period with a Hispanic woman learning English as a second language.
After completing a sixteen (16) week Female Self-Defense Course with her daughter, who was sixteen (16) at the time, she studied Kung Fu for three (3) years, gaining emotional, spiritual and physical knowledge and self-awareness through the philosophy of martial arts, both at the school Modern Warrior.
Having a deep interest in Native American history, literature, culture and spirituality, she attended a guided meditation to discover her power animal. Giraffe appeared to her, symbolizing grace, communication, higher intuitive powers and farsightedness; seeing what others do not see. This experience began her independent work with animal medicine and symbolism, based primarily on the works of Ted Andrews. Eleven (11) years later these character traits would prove quite significant in a career change. Sebsequent power animals would be Owl, Panther and Bobcat.
A long time interest in reincarnation brought her to the works of Edgar Cayce, known as the sleeping prophet, and Dr. Brian Weiss. Utilizing Dr. Weiss's techniques to the letter, Adrienne successfully hypnotized herself and regressed into several awe inspiring past lifetimes. These emotional and insightful regressions would begin a transformative period in her life, taking her self-awareness to a new and metaphysical level.
Simultaneously she engaged in extensive independent study of Buddhist philosophy, primarily through the works of Thich Nat Hahn and Pema Chodron, through which she received validation of her personal choice to embrace her humanness and live the middle way.
Continuing on her journey as a single mother, in addition to her employment in law firms, Adrienne worked as a babysitter, waitress, and operated a small hostess helper business. Along the way as a result of her personal experiences, growth and healing, she realized she longed to help others in a more emotional, spiritual manner. When her children were off to college and their adult lives, she would attend college as well. Hoping to eventually become a counselor, aiding others in their healing processes and emotional and spiritual growth, she majored in Psychology and Human Growth and Development. Graduating from SUNY Empire State College with high honors at the age of forty-eight (48), she would begin her new career in human services.
Adrienne's extensive study in Alcoholism, Addiction and The Addictive Cycle has enabled her to help many individuals through their recovery and healing processes. Her counsel is the perfect adjunct to Twelve (12) Step and other rehabilitation programs.
After graduation, still working in an executive legal assistant position, Adrienne took a part time position as a child care worker at Madonna Heights, a residential treatment center for emotionally disturbed, wounded and fragile adolescent girls. These residents were victims of verbal, physical and sexual abuse and prior to entering Madonna Heights, many were involved in gang related incidents and criminal behavior. At this job, Adrienne facilitated group activities and discussions particularly aimed at encouraging the girls to share their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. Her main objective was to build trust and relationships in a way unfamiliar to these unfortunate young women. Her primary role included greeting the girls after school and supervising and spending time with them until bedtime. She also created and facilitated an emotion awareness workshop for staff members at the center and completed training in TCI, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, in which she holds certification. Soon after beginning this work, she left her office job and her private counseling practice began to flourish.
In 2005 Adrienne was unfortunately diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma brain tumor which brought her work at Madonna Heights to an abrupt end. She underwent gamma knife radiosurgery. Recovery was fairly expeditious and she began to focus solely on her private practice.
At that time, missing the girls from Madonna Heights, she became a volunteer mentor to one particular young lady whose progress allowed her time outside of the center. They spent a year building a relationship and introducing her to new and exciting experiences before she was blessed with a therapeutic foster family.
Throughout the time at her last legal position and work at Madonna Heights, Adrienne began to cultivate her psychic abilities of clairvoyance, clairaudience, claircognizance and clairsentience.
Unlike most other psychic mediums she did not unexpectedly or spontaneously receive visits and messages from the spirit world. It was after seeing a popular medium on television that she decided she too would like to communicate with the other side. With that aspiration and a dogged determination, during her daily prayer and meditation she humbly and earnestly asked her maternal grandmother who had passed twenty-three (23) years earlier, to let her know if she was listening. She was, and let Adrienne know in a variety of ways. One thing led to another and many of her deceased family members began to send signs and appear to her during her meditation sessions. Enthralled and delighted by their response, she began her intensive and extensive independent study of mediumship and journey into the spirit world. Through books, television as well as live shows, audio tapes and videos of the masters in communicating with the other side, Adrienne home-schooled herself. Investing a great deal of time and energy in this process, her goal was to increase her faith and understanding of life and death. It was her daughter and a friend who had passed who were later instrumental in her commencing work with others, first as practice, then professionally.
Sometime during this period of development, Adrienne had the realization that she could psychically read a past life of another, simply by touching them. She recognized the process from her own past life regression work years earlier. And so past life reader became another of her talents.
Adrienne is accompanied throughout her life and aided in her work today by nine (9) ubiquitous spirit guides whom she calls My Team. They appeared to her in both solicited and unsolicited ways. They are a wise and powerful diverse group of individuals including a former baseball pitcher, bee keeper and charmer, chief of the Seneca tribe, artist of the Iroquois tribe, coalminer, elementary school teacher, philosophy professor, Tibetan llama and Chinese sage.
Her spirit family, also omniscient and omnipresent, includes some well known historical and entertainment figures, e.g. Ascended Masters Jesus, Buddha, and Quan Yin, John Lennon, George Harrison and Harry Houdini, to name a few, as well as the numerous members of what she lovingly refers to as her Dead Relatives Society.
During her radiosurgery recovery period, it became apparent to Adrienne that so many individuals do not take the time to heal, emotionally and physically, nor do they completely grieve their losses and truly experience their feelings. It was during this time that she began doing group events in an attempt to reach several individuals simultaneously. The Human Experience became her description and logo for this portion of her work and her auspicious workshops were the result. Soon after, she started doing inspirational group spirit communication events with an educational introduction and question and answer session. She would call this The Afterlife with Adrienne. Home events followed and by 2006 her work in both private and group counseling, spirit communication and past life readings had come to fruition in a successful private practice.
2008 brought the unfortunate return of the brain tumor and Adrienne underwent extensive neurosurgery. Recovery has been arduous but she returned to counseling work three (3) months later and psychic work one (1) year later. She is now working full time, in full capacity, and full swing. Adjusting to a hearing loss and nerve damage and still healing from the residual effects, she split her time for five (5) years between Long Island and upstate New York, joyfully bringing her gifts to both areas. She now resides in Horizon Village, a lovely 55+ community in North Fort Myers, in southwest FL. An inspirational testament to a successful emotional, spiritual and physical healing process and journey, Adrienne continues to guide and aid others in theirs.
Believing her work to be powerful and meaningful, Adrienne has found her true purpose. Her beliefs and teachings are culled from an eclectic background, the sum of all her experiences. She loves and remains committed to helping others heal and grow as is evidenced by her interest, enthusiasm, vitality and indefatigable compassion. Combining humor and sensitivity with her loving nature, she brings an extraordinary credibility, authenticity, vulnerability and honesty to every interaction, making her a desirable light and force along anyone’s journey.
Please note Adrienne works with children, teens, adults, couples and families.
Adrienne’s other interests and activities include living a vegan lifestyle, spending time in nature, earthing, kayaking, hiking, bird watching, rock scrambling, Yoga, Tai Chi, Qigong, meditation, chanting (Kirtan), African drumming, dancing and dance fitness, coloring, reading, Zen Tangle and playing her flute. She considers herself a movie buff, enjoys movies as well as live theatre and music, thrift shopping and vintage clothing, and visiting animal sanctuaries and communing with the rescued residents. Her collections include her extensive library of books, heart shaped rocks, boxes and jewelry, hats and Wonder Woman paraphernalia. Adrienne’s latest areas of study and creative development are transformational acting and a passionate interest in UFO and Alien Encounters. She is currently enjoying exploring southwest FL and all it has to offer. But her newest and most exciting and delightful role is that of Nanny to her darling three and a half (3 1/2) year old grandson, Sebastian.
And lastly, she is the proud and happy mother of two wonderful children, her greatest teachers, Shaun, age thirty-nine (39), and Erica, age thirty-seven (37).
